Loop de Loops

I'm not too sure if you've heard of Loop de Loops, but is is a cute company started by Lizanne Shaver, that sells very stylish belts and headbands. They are based in North Carolina and their website is www.loopdeloops.com

The company is mainly known for its belts made of French ribbon and other fabrics. Each belt is topped off with a glamorous buckle which ties it all together. Each belt runs about $80/ea., but they do have a clearance section on the website where they run about half the price.

Personally I am not a huge belt fan, but I love love love headbands, and Loop de Loops has what I like. Each headband is about 1-1/2 to 2 inches thick and made of patterned cloth. "Loopdeloops is dedicated to fabulous detail, colors, and most of all quality." Each headband costs about $36/ea., which can be a bit on the steep end, but they are just too cute to pass up.

Oh The Sweetness of Chick-Fil-A

I just have to let it be known how much I love Chick-Fil-A's Sweet Tea! It seriously is my favorite tea right now. I don't know what it is about this tea, but it makes everything better.

I don't go to Chick-Fil-A too often, but when I do I really look forward to having that tea. I usually order the Number 1, which is just the original sandwich with the waffle fries. I always order the Sweet Tea with it because something about the sweetness of the tea and the saltiness of the meal makes me super happy. It's funny though because every single time I order my meal I think to myself, "There's no way this is going to fill me up." But I am wrong each time because it does.

This is a good reason why driving through Chick-Fil-A has become a tradition with my Fiance and I before we go snowboarding. We live in beautiful Colorado, so when snowboarding season rolls around, we look forward to Chick-Fil-A. It really fills us up until lunch time. I particularly look forward to the Sweet Tea of course.

In fact, I love it so much, I bought a gallon of tea for Thanksgiving this year. I still have a bit left over and I am enjoying an ice cold glass right now!

Old Navy Wants to keep You Warm Too

'Tis the season to be warm...fa la la la la - la la lah lah. Let's face it, we all go out to do Christmas shopping for our friends and family, but there is always that one thing that you want for yourself and you're almost positive no one will buy it for you. Yeah, that is what I'm struggling with right now. I went into Old Navy the other day and saw so many cute sweaters that I wanted for myself! My dilemma is that I'm on a tight budget. I need to make sure I have enough money for everyone on my list. My solution is to pick one sweater from Old Navy for me and spend the rest of my money on everyone else. This way we are all happy. Besides, I need something super cute to wear on Christmas Eve! Ooh, but what to wear on Christmas...? Okay okay, snap out of it RobbieLee.

Anyhoo, when I went into Old Navy I saw so many modern and classic sweaters for less than other places like Macy's or even it's big brother The Gap. So you too can have your cake and eat it too this Holiday season. Just know that if you have a budget, stick to it. This doesn't mean that you forget yourself however. You can get a little something too, just be strong and limit yourself to one thing.

Hostel Part II

After seeing the first Hostel movie written and directed by Eli Roth in 2005, I was extremely sad and totally grossed out! I couldn't believe that I actually sat through that and watched it all the way through. It made me think how awful people could be to each other. I would never wish that sort of treatment on anyone. The thing that really scared me though was to think that here is this writer that sat down and wrote the whole story in such awful detail. How can someone think of this? I'm sure Mr. Roth would never hurt anyone for real, but it is still disturbing to think about.

As if that wasn't enough for me, I was forced to sit through Hostel Part II last night. It was awful to see all of that torture. I have to admit that I was not as shocked this time because I was sort of prepared from the first one. That is another thing that is disturbing; we see things like this in movies and we start to become numb to it. We in a way are getting used to seeing such violence on the big screen. This is not the direction our society needs to be going. What ever happened to ghost movies to scare us? We are bored with that I suppose.

One thing we are never tired of though is a great comedy. Let's continue to bring more comedy and lighten things a little :).

Thanksgiving 2007

How was every one's Thanksgiving this year? I hope everyone spent time with their family and friends. I did and it was wonderful . I'm just thankful to have such loving family and friends in my life to share the holidays with, because at the end of the day, that really is all that matters. The food and gifts should only be seen as a bonus, but they should never be expected. Having your loved ones in your life is the important thing.

It just amazes me how many people out there who don't appreciate what they have. They let things like their temper and pride get in the way and they don't get to enjoy the wonderful people in their lives. So please look at the bigger picture and enjoy what you have!

The Mac

I just have to let the world know how much I love Macs! They are great computers with great software. They are so user friendly and beautiful to look at. Compared to a PC, I think a Mac allows me to complete the same tasks, just faster. I can click and drag instead of going through folders. I don't have time to look for folders dang it!

Oh, I never mentioned that I'm a graphic artist. This would explain another reason why I love Macs so much. Design work is just so much easier on a Mac. My favorite feature on a Mac is the glassy look throughout the system. I love shiny reflective objects.

Well, that's all I wanted to say, so until next time.

The Divine Raspberry Mocha Frap

I was sitting here and all of a sudden I thought to myself, "Wow! A Tall Light Raspberry Mocha Frap with whipped cream would be wonderful right now." It's been about two weeks since my last cup and I feel that I deserve one.

I usually get the Tall (that's code for 'small' for those who don't speak Starbucks) for a couple of reasons. The first reason is because I still think it's crazy to pay upwards of $3 for a cup of pre-mixed coffee, but I do it anyway; I just feel better that I'm spending the least amount possible for something I like. The second reason is because I don't feel so bad sucking in all of those wanted calories. They're two very simple reasons, but I'm sure most of you can relate.

I used to only get the Regular Mocha Frap, but since my taste buds discovered the Divine Raspberry Mocha Frap, I switch between the two. Today I'm craving the cold and creamy flavor of the mocha with just enough raspberry tang to top it off. My favorite part of the whole experience is the way the barista presents it to me. Ooh ooh ooh! As he or she slides that clear dome shaped container with that famous green straw across the pick-up counter as they call out the ingredients, I just go crazy inside. Then I see the fluffy whipped cream delicately drizzled with the raspberry sauce and I can't wait any longer. I try not to get too out of control and I usually make it out the door before taking my first sip, but sometimes I don't make it. Sometimes I have to take a drink before I dash out the door.

I'm not sure if writing about this craving is helping or making matters worse. I want one even more than ever. What to do? I'm not in a place where I can just run out real fast to get one. I have no choice but to wait! Maybe for lunch I can get away and treat myself.

Magazines and Recycling

Now that you know why I'm blogging we can get started. I read a lot of magazines and this is because my mom is notorious for subscribing to magazines of all kinds ranging from your typical gossip magazine to home and gardening magazines. After she is done with them, she passes them onto me. It has become a mini tradition just between the two of us; it is something we share. After I'm done with them I am supposed to recycle them right away, but for some reason that is easier said than done. I find that there are so many great recipes, crafts, fashion and decorating ideas, that it's difficult to recycle them as soon as I am finished reading them.

You may be asking yourself, "why doesn't she just tear out the pages she likes and recycle the rest right away?" Well, that's a great question. I don't have an answer for you right now. It is something I need to work on. That actually brings up a funny topic, because my Fiancé thinks its crazy how many magazines my mom and I have. I have them laying all over the house and it drives him nuts! He can complain all he wants, but it won't make a difference. I will do as I please.

I really am big on recycling though and I can't stress enough how important it is. I recycle everything I possibly can, but for some reason it's difficult for me to actually drop my magazines into the recycle bin. I stack them in piles around the house with intentions of recycling them, but they never seem to make it. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm an artist and I love to use found objects in my arts and crafts. I see this as a form of recycling, but I need to just hang onto a few and recycle the rest. Let’s face it; I'll never have a shortage of magazines as long as my mom keeps on subscribing!

Why I am Blogging

I'm blogging because I want a place where I can share my thoughts on the many different topics that I think about from day to day. I read many articles in magazines and online everyday and I want to give my input too.

Since I am so interested in many different topics, I have a lot to say about everything from travel and hobbies to technology and gossip. You might not agree with everything I say, and that's just dandy. I know everyone has their own opinion on everything under the sun, and that is what makes the world go round.

It's great when people share their opinions and ideas because sometimes it sparks something new. Sometimes it sheds light on an area that you never really gave any thought to. It's important to open each others minds and think in new ways. So turn that brain power on and I'll keep writing.
